O mountain biking (ver video de janeiro de 2014) é mais um nicho de mercado de turismo activo, de natureza e aventura, para o qual a Madeira tem condições óptimas e não choca com o turismo tradicional ou sénior, porque são distintos e têm rotas diferentes. Aliás, complementam-se e maximizam-se, assim, as diversas potencialidades turísticas da Madeira e Porto Santo.
O concelho da Calheta, onde é filmado o vídeo, tem enorme potencial em termos de mountain biking e de todos os outros desportos de aventura como o surf, bodyboard, wind surfing, diving, hiking, climbing, canyoning, paragliding, sailing, dolphin & whale watching ou (big game) fishing.
O concelho da Calheta, além das vistas e das pessoas ("the locals are friendly"), tem o melhor tempo e temperatura do arquipélago. Não é a primeira vez que alguém diz que a impressionante paisagem da Madeira se assemelha à paisagem do filme Jurassic Park, como se refere neste vídeo ("pretty similar to the Jurassic Park island") - o belíssimo vale da Ribeira Brava/Encumeada é um exemplo claro. Já ouvi também comparações com a Nova Zelândia. E temos tudo isto com bom clima e na Europa.
São, pois, muitas razões para preservarmos (individual e colectivamente) o que temos de AUTÊNTICO e belo.

We have also heard comparisons to New Zealand type landscapes. All that in Europe and with good climate.
Come and feel the landscape around you. Dive in it.Take a deep breath. Surrender to the charms of an island that exhales energy and inspires emotion and adventure. Besides all this, you may also feel Madeira's Nature profound and empowering quietness, working as a self (relaxing and healing) retreat from modern life rush, stress and anxieties.
